My name is Deirdre Bailey. I am an educator, a researcher, a learner and a leader passionate about thoughtful, responsive and ecologically conscious pedagogy. My vision for 21st century leadership involves building capacity for extending teaching and learning beyond the school community through reconciliation, relationship-building and critical dialogue that considers multiple perspectives. Research interests include hermeneutic phenomenology, critical and social justice pedagogy, mathematics education, eco-pedagogy and place-based pedagogy. Personal passions include wilderness wanders with my husband and two young children, movement, music, poetry, morning coffee and fresh rainfall.
In the spirit of reconciliation, I acknowledge that I am privileged and deeply grateful to live, work, and play in Qukin ʔamakʔis - unceded traditional territory of the Ktunaxa people.
